My name is Rob I live in my home town of Fleetwood a small port once one of the bigest fishing ports in the UK. Fleetwood is 7 miles North of the large hoilday town Blackpool on the North West coast of England, my QTH is the former home of one of the towns lighthouse keepers and is located 150meters from the base of one of the Town's 3 Lighthouse's (Pharos Lighthouse or Upper Lighthouse ARLHS Number ENG043). My Locator is IO83LW and My WAB Square is SD34.

I started in radio in 1993 with short wave listening, CB radio and being involved with JOTA, I passed my Foundation exam in September 2003 gaining the call sign M3FFS then in January 2005 passed my Intermediate exam gaining the Call 2E0FFS, I am now studing for my Full Licence and hoping to gain this soon.

As well as Radio being my hobbie i have many over hobbys too including photography. fishing, and local history, I also keep tropical fish. I am also a ex member of the Fleetwood RNLI Lifeboat crew, sadly in late 2012 due to work commitments I had to step down from my role on the Lifeboat crew as my work takes me working out of town.

The bands I can be found on most of the time are 70cm, 2m, 4m, 6m, 10m, 20m, 40m and 80m. Working FM, SSB, SSTV and PSK. I can also be found on Echo Link.


In the Shack

I have a Yaesu FT-50R, Baofeng UV-5RA, Icom IC-703, Yaesu FT-897D and a Kernow BETA 2100-GTL CB. My Antennas are a 1/2 size G5RV(40m-10m), Antron 99 (40m-10M), Watson 2m/7cm Collinear, 2m 4-Ele Yagi and a 4m/6m Dipole. Other Hardware I have in the Shack is MFJ 704 Low Pass Filter, Victronics VC300DLP Antenna Tuner, Aviair AV-400 SWR Meter, Daiwa CN-101L SWR Meter, Yaesu SCU-17 andWatson power mite.

The software I use is Ham Rado Deluxe, Zakanka, MMSTV, Yaesu PCC-950, Ham Scope, EchoLink and Logger 32.
